The feeling of sitting in your car, staring out the windshield and not knowing what life decision to make. It’s a recurring scene of this season of life.
Note: I do all my best thinking driving. Maybe yours is working out or in the silence of 3 a.m.
“You know, these years are the foundation of your future. Your whole life is based off these decisions.”
It echoes in your heart more often than you’d like.
While yes, there is truth to that, it also heaps unwelcomed expectations of having your life totally and completely together.
The 20’s are stressful years. A lot of life decisions are made.
We have all felt those moments so rushed with emotion wondering 〈begging〉 for it to get better than this.
My question is always, “So what’s the solution? How does this get solved?”
And you know what I’m finding? Not everything can be solved, and that has to be okay.
Friend, I don’t have words of wisdom from years of experience, but I do know the truth of Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your steps.”
Y’all, I want a sign to fall down from the sky that says, “GO HERE” or “THIS IS WHAT I HAVE FOR YOU.”
But God does guide us! And He does give us answers in His way!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
Trust takes faith. Faith that it’s in control. Faith that no matter what, it will be okay. Faith that in all things, God is good.
I want to take a minute and focus on this. It has to be right up there with Jeremiah 29:11 on “autopilot verses.” You’ve heard it a million times, but I want the millionth and one time to be a little different.
◊ Trust with all your heart. All of it. Trust with every crevice of your heart 〈the doubt, the guilt, the worry.〉 He created you. He knows you and the depth of your heart.
◊ Don’t rely on your understanding.
- I blogged a while back about how I thought I had my life all planned out and not one part of it came to be. And you know what, on the other side of it I am thankful. Our understanding is limited. We live in the moment and sometimes our emotions can get the best of us. While it all feels so pressing and urgent, we have a limited view.
I am not discrediting emotions. I feel there is a time and place and it is so important to allow yourself to feel. But in those moments, remind yourself, God already knows the outcome.
◊ Honor God with your life.
- The Message version says this, “Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best.” There is a way of the world and there is a way of heaven. One is narrow and one is wide. That narrow road means you will be misunderstood, belittled, mocked, slandered and more. There’s a reason it’s narrow, but it is so worth the walk! Honor Him with your life.
◊ He will direct your path.
- I have heard this verse countless times, but as I was reading, something in me took notice of what I so desperately want. A sign! A direction! God will guide you through His word and the Holy Spirit into the path you should go!
This season is exciting, but it can also be exhausting. In it all, God will not forget about you. He never has and He never will.
Lauren Daigle released a new album and her song, “Remember” has been on repeat lately. Remember what God has done. Remember how far you’ve come. Remember God.
Sometimes God does feel silent in our lives, but even when it feels that way, He is right there with you! Feel the assurance of your Heavenly Father holding you and guiding you. Trust Him with your whole heart and have faith that He will guide you to the path meant for you.
