“There is an abundant need in this world for your exact brand of beautiful,” Lysa Terkeurst said in her book Uninvited.
A company’s branding sets them apart. It helps the costumer differentiate their product over a competitor’s. It sets the tone, gives you a glimpse of what it has to offer, shows you how it is different. To me, it is the visual representation of the heart of the company.
We are each given unique gifts, talents and abilities. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
You have a brand. You have something to offer. Some days, it is much too easy to believe the lies of the world that you are just like everyone else. That the mundane will always be the same. That what you have to offer, someone else can do better. Life can make you feel like God forgot about you.
We all need to be reminded of this: God knows you and created the world to need your exact brand of beautiful!
This absolutely humbles and amazes me! Before God created the world, before time began, He knew you.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart.” Jeremiah 1:5.
Think back over time. When Moses led the Israelites, when Jonah ran from God, when Mary had Jesus and when Jesus died for our sins, God. Knew. You. Not even close to being placed on earth, and yet God had a purpose for your life!
Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; I know that full well.”
God knows you! Sometimes, God gives us a glimpse of His mighty power and to think that the same God that calms the sea and holds the ocean in His hands (see Isaiah 40:12)…He has a plan and purpose for your life!
“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you,” Psalm 139:17-18.
Friend, if I could reach across the table, hold your hand and tell you one thing it would be this: God’s love for you is far greater than you will ever know. He has a purpose for you and a plan to fulfill that purpose!
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be,” Psalm 139:16.
I love how TerKeurst phrases it, “There is an abundant need.” Not just something you can check off and forget about, but an abundant need for what you were specifically created to give the world.
God created the world to have a purpose that only you could fulfill! It needs the special touch of you!
God has a plan and a purpose for everything and every season! Walk with Him. Seek to know Him. Love Him. Serve Him with your brand of beautiful because He knows you!
